Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of https://preparemylife.com (the “Site”) and to any purchase you make from Prepare My Life (“Prepare My Life,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including Group Buy orders. Please read them carefully. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Using the Site

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian’s permission, to place an order.
  • Use the Site only for lawful, personal purposes. Do not try to hack, disrupt, overload, or copy the Site, use bots or scrapers, or interfere with other users.
  • We try to keep the information on the Site accurate and up to date, but we do not promise that it is complete, current, or error-free, or that the Site will always be available.

3. Your Account

  • You can create an account on our My Account page. An account is required to join a Group Buy and to see Group Buy event products.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or are used for fraud or abuse.

4. Group Buy

Group Buy lets customers, neighborhoods, and groups order products together in bulk, usually at a lower price.

  • Ordering window. Each Group Buy has an order deadline. Orders must be placed by that deadline, and Group Buy orders are paid in full at checkout.
  • No minimums; unfilled items. Group Buy orders have no minimum order requirements. Items depend on supplier availability. If we cannot fill an item, we will tell you and give you a full refund for that item.
  • Cancellations and changes. You may cancel or change a Group Buy order as long as the product is still available. Contact us at tami@preparemylife.com.
  • Fulfillment timing. Group Buy orders are made ready for pickup after the order deadline and after we receive the product from our supplier. We will let you know when your order is ready for pickup.
  • Pickup. Group Buy orders are picked up at Prepare My Life, 9487 S 500 W, Sandy, UT. We will send you several pickup reminders. Orders that are not picked up within 6 months after they are ready are forfeited, and no refund will be given.
  • No local delivery. We do not offer local delivery for Group Buy orders.
  • Neighborhood coordinators. Some neighborhoods have coordinators who collect their group’s orders from Prepare My Life. Coordinators are independent and are not employees or agents of Prepare My Life. Each coordinator decides independently how to distribute orders, for example at a separate pickup location or by delivery. Prepare My Life is not responsible for a coordinator’s pickup, delivery, or other arrangements. Once a coordinator collects an order from us, questions about distribution should go to the coordinator.

5. Products, Pricing, and Availability

  • All products are subject to availability. We may limit quantities or stop offering a product at any time.
  • Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change without notice. Group Buy prices apply only to the specific Group Buy event.
  • We try to describe and show products accurately, but packaging, labels, and colors may differ slightly from the photos, and manufacturers may change products or packaging.
  • If a product is listed at the wrong price or with wrong information, we may cancel the order and refund your payment, even after you receive an order confirmation.
  • We may refuse or cancel any order, for example if we suspect fraud or an item is unavailable. If we cancel after you have paid, we will refund you.

6. Payment

  • We accept credit cards, cash, and checks.
  • Card payments are processed by our payment processor, Square. Card information is handled by Square and is not stored on our Site.
  • Sales tax is added where required by law.
  • By placing an order, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.

7. Shipping and Delivery

  • Orders placed through the Site (other than Group Buy orders) usually ship within 1–5 business days after we receive the order. Delivery times after shipping depend on the carrier and are estimates, not guarantees.
  • Shipping fees are shown at checkout.
  • We ship only to addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, APO/FPO addresses, or other countries.
  • Risk of loss passes to you when the order is delivered to the carrier or picked up. Please inspect your order on arrival. If a package is lost or damaged in shipping, contact us at tami@preparemylife.com and we will file the claim with the carrier.

8. Returns and Refunds

  • If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the product price or an exchange for another product.
  • Returned products must be in the same condition you received them and in the original packaging. Please keep your email invoice or receipt.
  • Food returns. We accept returns of unopened food only. Opened food cannot be returned unless it has a manufacturer defect that you find when you open it.
  • Delivery and shipping fees are not refundable once the order has shipped, or if the merchandise is returned to us.
  • If an item is faulty, wrongly described, or different from what was shown, we will refund the purchase price or send a replacement, as long as the item is returned within 30 days of purchase.
  • Starting a return. To start a return, email us at tami@preparemylife.com, or drop off the item at Prepare My Life, 9487 S 500 W, Sandy, UT, during our open business hours.
  • Return shipping. You pay the cost of shipping a return to us, unless the item was defective or we made an error.
  • Refund timing. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we receive the returned item. Your bank may take 1–2 business days to process the refund.
  • Group Buy final sale items. Group Buy items follow this return policy, except that some Group Buy items are final sale and cannot be returned. Final sale items are noted at the time of purchase.

9. Food Storage and Preparedness Product Disclaimers

  • Shelf life. Any shelf life stated for a product is an estimate from the manufacturer under ideal storage conditions. Actual shelf life depends on how the product is stored, including temperature, humidity, light, pests, and whether the container has been opened. Store products in a cool, dry, dark place and follow the label instructions. Inspect food before eating it and do not eat anything that looks, smells, or tastes spoiled or comes from a damaged, bulging, or leaking container.
  • Allergens and ingredients. Ingredient and allergen information is printed on each product’s label by the manufacturer. Always read the label before using a product. Some products may be made in facilities that also process common allergens. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, check with the manufacturer if you are unsure.
  • Not medical or nutrition advice. Information on the Site, in our emails, planners, classes, and Group Buy materials, including information about food storage, water storage and purification, sanitation, cooking without electricity, and emergency planning, is general information only. It is not medical, nutritional, health, or professional safety advice. Talk with a qualified professional about your own needs.
  • Emergency use. We cannot guarantee that any product or plan will keep you safe in a particular emergency. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and warnings for all products, especially stoves, fuels, water filters, and purification products, and follow guidance from local emergency officials.
  • Manufacturer warranties. Many products are made by other companies. Any warranty on those products comes from the manufacturer, not from Prepare My Life, unless we say otherwise in writing.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Except as stated in these Terms (including our return policy) and to the fullest extent allowed by law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • Prepare My Life and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Site or any product.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Site or a product will not be more than the amount you paid us for the product that is the subject of the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Events Beyond Our Control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as fire, flood, storms, natural disasters, pandemics, war, riots, terrorism, labor problems, embargoes, transportation or carrier problems, accidents, equipment breakdowns, supplier shortages or delays, or government action. If this happens, we may delay or cancel affected orders and will refund any amount paid for items we cannot provide.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Prepare My Life and its owners and employees from any claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else’s rights.

14. Intellectual Property

  • All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, photos, the Prepare My Life Planner, and other materials, is owned by Prepare My Life or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
  • You may view and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, sell, rent, sublicense, copy, or redistribute our content without our written permission, unless the content is specifically made for sharing.
  • Product names and brands of other companies belong to their owners.

15. Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to websites run by others. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices. If you find a link on the Site objectionable, you may contact us; we will consider requests to remove links but are not required to do so.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will try to give at least 30 days’ notice before it takes effect, such as by email or a notice on the Site. The Terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order. Continuing to use the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute related to these Terms, the Site, or a purchase will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you and we agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

18. Other Terms

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we are not giving up our right to enforce it later.
  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any terms shown at checkout or for a specific Group Buy are the entire agreement between you and Prepare My Life about the Site and your purchases.
