Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Prepare My Life (“Prepare My Life,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit https://preparemylife.com (the “Site”), shop with us, join a Group Buy, or sign up for our emails. It also explains how we use and share that information and what choices you have.

Prepare My Life is a small food storage and emergency preparedness business based in Sandy, Utah. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who We Are and How to Reach Us

Prepare My Life
9487 S 500 W
Sandy, UT 84070
Email: tami@preparemylife.com

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. When you create an account on our My Account page (for example, to join a Group Buy), we collect your name, email address, username, and password.
  • Order information. When you check out, we collect your billing and shipping name, address, phone number, email address, and the details of your order (products, quantities, prices, and pickup or shipping choices).
  • Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment processor, Square. Your full card number is entered into and handled by Square, not stored on our Site. We receive limited payment details, such as the card type, the last four digits, and whether the payment went through.
  • Email sign-ups. If you join our mailing list online or in person (for example, at an event or class), we collect your name and email address.
  • Messages to us. If you contact us by email or through a form on the Site, we collect what you send us.
  • Planner access. If you buy the Prepare My Life Planner, we collect the information needed to give you access to the Planner download pages.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect some technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the site that sent you to us. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar tools (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process, fill, and ship your orders, and arrange Group Buy pickups
  • Create and manage your account
  • Send order confirmations, receipts, pickup notices and reminders, shipping updates, and other service messages
  • Send you our tips, offers, and news by email if you are subscribed (see Section 5)
  • Answer your questions and provide customer support
  • Keep the Site secure, prevent spam and fraud, and fix problems
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
  • Keep business, accounting, and tax records and meet our legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We never sell your personal information. We do not share customer names or details with our suppliers or partners.

We share personal information only as needed to run our business, including with:

  • Payment processor. Card payments are processed by Square, which receives the payment information needed to process payments and prevent fraud.
  • Email marketing provider. We use Intuit Mailchimp to send our emails. See Section 5.
  • Website hosting and security providers. Our Site is hosted by GoDaddy (Managed WordPress) and protected by security and content-delivery services (Sucuri and/or Cloudflare), which process technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver the Site and block attacks.
  • Spam protection. We use Google reCAPTCHA on forms. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google to check that you are a real person. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Shipping carriers, to deliver your orders and, if a package is lost or damaged, to file a claim on your behalf.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, when needed.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may share information if required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Prepare My Life, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers. If Prepare My Life is sold, merged, or transferred, customer information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Email Marketing (Mailchimp)

  • How you join. At checkout and when you create an account, there is a box that says “Email me Prepare My Life tips and offers. Unsubscribe anytime.” This box is checked by default. If you leave it checked, we will add you to our mailing list. If you do not want our emails, uncheck the box before you submit. We may also add people who sign up with us in person or offline.
  • What Mailchimp receives. For subscribers, we send Mailchimp your name and email address, and your order and purchase information (such as products bought, order totals, and dates) so we can send emails that are more relevant to you.
  • Site and cart tracking. Mailchimp’s site tracking script loads on our Site. It can collect information about how you use the Site, and for subscribed contacts it can track items added to a cart (for example, to send a reminder about an abandoned cart). Cart tracking applies only to contacts who are subscribed.
  • How to unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop order-related messages, such as receipts and pickup notices.

Mailchimp’s handling of your information is described in the Intuit Mailchimp privacy policy.

6. Cookies and Similar Tools

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:

  • Essential cookies (WooCommerce and WordPress) to keep items in your cart, remember your session, and keep you logged in. The Site will not work properly without them.
  • Security cookies from our firewall and reCAPTCHA providers to protect the Site from attacks and spam.
  • Mailchimp site tracking. Mailchimp’s script is the only marketing or analytics tracking tool we use on the Site (see Section 5). We do not use Google Analytics, a Facebook/Meta pixel, or other advertising trackers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart, checkout, and login may not work. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting; because there is no common standard for how sites should respond, the Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

7. How Long We Keep Information

  • Failed and cancelled orders are deleted after 1 year.
  • Completed orders and customer accounts are kept as long as needed for business, accounting, and tax records, or until you ask us to delete them (subject to records we must keep by law).
  • Mailing list information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Access and update your account information by logging in to My Account.
  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to delete your personal information. When we process a deletion request, we remove your personal information from your account and orders. We may keep limited order records (with personal details removed) or information we are required to keep by law.
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (see Section 5).

To make a request, email us at tami@preparemylife.com or write to us at the address in Section 1. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.

9. California Residents

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), may give you these rights, to the extent it applies to us:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and to get a copy of it.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We never sell your personal information.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that require this right.
  • Right not to be discriminated against for using these rights.

Categories we collect: identifiers (name, email, address, phone, IP address); customer records (billing/shipping details, limited payment information); commercial information (orders and purchase history); internet activity (pages viewed, cart activity through cookies and Mailchimp site tracking); and inferences we may make about your product interests for email marketing. We collect this from you, your device, and our service providers, for the purposes described in Section 3, and we disclose it to the types of service providers listed in Section 4. We keep it for the periods described in Section 7.

To make a request, contact us as described in Section 8. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of permission and ask you to verify your identity.

10. Residents of Other U.S. States

Some other states (for example, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Oregon, Texas, and Utah) have their own privacy laws that may give residents rights to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. Whether or not those laws apply to a business our size, we will honor reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete your information. Contact us as described in Section 8. If we deny your request, you may reply to ask us to reconsider.

11. Visitors Outside the United States

Prepare My Life is based in the United States, and the Site is intended for U.S. customers. We sell and ship only to addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from those in your country.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including a website firewall, encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and payment processing handled by Square instead of storing card numbers on our Site. No website or online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account and keep it private.

14. Links to Other Websites

The Site may link to other websites, such as product manufacturers or partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. Please read their privacy policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we make a significant change in how we use your personal information, we will give more notice, such as an email or a notice on the Site.
